About & Editorial Policy

Folio73 is a web directory structured as an expedition log. Every site in the index has been reviewed, categorised, and assigned a permanent entry number before appearing in the public record. The log currently holds 836 waypoints distributed across 22 sections, from Companionship Bivouacs to Expedition Routes & Destination Camps.

The project started from a simple premise: the open web is vast, and most directories either attempt to rank everything or categorise nothing. Folio73 takes a different approach — classification first, judgment second. Each entry belongs to exactly one section, chosen by the type of service or content the site provides.

Submissions are free and processed in the order they arrive. Once a site passes review and is confirmed as a distinct destination (no duplicates are logged), it is assigned a position and remains in the index indefinitely. The log does not expire entries for inactivity.

Folio73 covers a broad cross-section of the internet: health services, legal practices, retail, technology, media, travel, and more. The General Outposts section catches destinations that span multiple categories or serve purposes outside the named sections.

The index is updated regularly as new submissions clear intake. Operators, researchers, and general readers are welcome to browse and to file new entries through the submission form.
